NovaStar 5 Administrator Manual for Users
This is the Manual for the new NovaStar Administrator (not the legacy Administrator).
Introduction
The NovaStar 5 system collects real-time environmental data and provides alarm notifications. NovaStar 5 is often implemented as a flood warning system using precipitation and stream data, but can also work with other data such as temperature, wind, and water quality.
The Administrator is the user interface (UI) for the NovaStar 5 system database and server software, hereafter referred to as "NovaStar".
How to use this document
Because the newly released Administrator software is different in some ways from the Legacy Administrator, the Getting Started section is recommended for those familiar with the NovaStar System as well as new NovaStar users.
Working through the manual sequentially is likely to be unnecessary for users who are familiar with the NovaStar base station software, and information about how to proceed with any page can be found in the section of this manual named after the page in question.
Use the navigation menu provided on the left side of the page to navigate the documentation sections within the full document. With the exception of the Introduction and Getting Started, the sections are ordered to match the Administrator user interface. The Getting Started contents are ordered in a sequence from basic NovaStar system setups to user interface navigation.
Use the navigation menu provided on the right side of the page (Table of contents) to navigate the documentation sections with a page. The navigation menus may not be displayed if the web browser window is narrow or if viewing on a mobile device, in which case look for a menu icon to access the menus. Use the search feature to find documentation matching the search words.
