Alarms / Alarm Contact List
Introduction
An alarm contact entry specifies the contact information that will be used to notify individuals of an alarm condition.
Clicking on the Alarms / Alarm Contact List menu displays the Alarm Contact List page. A new NovaStar system will display an empty Alarm Contact List.

The Alarm Contact List page conforms to a layout similar to many data types which includes a list of data items. See List Features for more information detailing page navigation; adding, copying and deleting contacts; and modifying existing contacts.
Adding a new contact
Note that creating a new contact requires entering, at a minimum, the name and contact.
Identification
The following contact properties are used to identify the contact.

Data Label | Description |
---|---|
Name | Alarm contact name. Max: 100 characters. |
Contact | Contact phone number or email address. Max: 100 characters. |
Description | Enter additional information describing alarm contact. Max: 1000 characters. |
Phone number
When supplying a phone number for the purposes of sending a text, enter the full 10-digit number, followed by the specific carrier gateway address. Consult with information provided by the contact's carrier to ascertain the appropriate gateway, noting that these gateways change periodically.
For example, some of the most common carrier gateways may be:
AT&T SMS: <number>@txt.att.net for a normal text message (SMS)
AT&T MMS: <number>@mms.att.net for a multimedia message (MMS)
Verizon: <number>@vtext.com for both SMS and MMS messages
Sprint PCS: <number>@messaging.sprintpcs.com for both SMS and MMS messages
T-Mobile: <number>@tmomail.net for both SMS and MMS messages
Virgin Mobile: <number>@vmobl.com for both SMS and MMS messages
