Converting an ALERT1 station to ALERT2

(Prior to converting) Verify/create an ALERT2 point type exists for all point types incorporated in this station

(1) Change the station type from an ALERT1 to an ALERT2 station type

(2) Modify the source address to use the appropriate remote tag

(3) Modify each station's points

  • Change each individual point's point type from an ALERT1 point type to an equivalent ALERT2 point type

  • Change each point's Sensor ID

  • Set the calibration for the point to 1 (multiplier), 0 (adder), 0 (base value)

    The exception to this is precipitation, which should remain the same as previous settings.

(4) Create a GPS Lock point type on the station

Maintaining historical ALERT1 data is important and shouldn't be lost during the transition. There are three approaches to maintaining this data: Describe solutions.
